A Stuart man was sentenced on felony firearms charges.

Todd Jackson, 53 years old of Stuart, was arrested in May of 2025 after a search warrant was executed at his residence, where 12 firearms were discovered, along with drugs and drug paraphernalia. Jackson entered a plea agreement, and pled guilty to two counts of dominion and control of a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon, a Class D Felony, and one count of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, second offence, a serious misdemeanor.

In accordance with the plea agreement, Jackson received two suspended sentences of five years for the Class D Felonies, and a jail term of two days, with credit for two days already served for the serious misdemeanor. Should the suspended sentences be enacted, each sentence of five years will be served consecutively. Jackson will also be on probation for three years, and pay a total of $2,480 in fines, all victim restitution ordered as substantiated by law, along with court costs and court appointed attorney fees, subject to reasonable ability to pay. Also as part of the agreement, he will not seek appeal.
