Chris Partlow, Head Bowling Coach for West Central Valley discusses the growth he saw in the school’s newest sports program.
Partlow coaches both the girls and boys, and says that the 30 student athletes between both groups did very well in the inaugural bowling season. He credits a lot of the success to the advanced equipment that was donated by elite bowlers in the Stuart area.
Partlow details that as the years go on, the Wildcats will need to continue to invest in technology that will help the team, and will reach out to younger students to pique their interest.
“We got a lot of freshmen that will be sophomores coming back. We’re looking at potentially looking at going over to the middle school (and) talking to some of these eighth graders who would like to bowl next year and maybe see if we can get them a head start too.”
West Central Valley Girls placed third in the Class 1A Region 3 State Qualifying Meet in Adel on February 2nd, as the boys garnered an eighth place finish in Carroll for the State Qualifying Meet on February 16th.
