The DCG boys track and field season kicks off today up in Cedar Falls, Iowa, with the A.D. Dickonson Relays at the UNI-Dome.
This is the first of 17 competitions that the boys will participate in before postseason play begins in early May. Jordan Sump is the team’s head coach as well as the head coach of strength and conditioning at Dallas Center-Grimes High School. Sump often works with the boys in the weight room, first to get to know his guys, and second to help them grow into the best athletes they can be. He recently added Carter Boothe to his coaching staff for the 2026 season. Boothe is an assistant coach for the football team and can now add assistant for boys’ track and field to his resume.
The 2022 team state champions begin their quest for another title at 2 pm inside the UNI-Dome.
