The leader of the West Central Valley Girls Basketball Team says the squad orchestrated an incredible turnaround in the second half of the season to give plenty of positive momentum heading into next year.

Head Coach Dan Druivenga outlines that the Wildcats didn’t get the ideal start to the season they were hoping for with a 2-5 record prior to the Christmas break, but then were able to string together seven victories in the second half to finish the year with nine wins. West Central Valley even had a stretch from January 12th-29th, where they went 5-2. Druivenga expresses that he was happy to see the girls never held their heads down.

“I really like how they stuck together and kept getting better as the season went on. And that’s all I ask of every team is to just get better every single day.”

The Wildcats were able to beat Logan-Magnolia 54-31 in the Class 2A Region 2 First Round game, before their season came to an end in the second round versus Westwood on February 17th.
