Families looking for something to do during spring break can come to the Adel Public Library.
Programming Specialist Lily Schwarz says the library will offer programs starting on Friday while Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Community School District is on break.
She adds the week will kick off with a live owl program with Dallas County Conservation Board. Children will meet the conservation board’s ambassador owl and will learn more about the birds at 10 a.m. on Friday.
Schwarz details that while the program is free, registration is required and all children 8 and under need to be supervised by a caregiver.
Programming will continue next week with the Jonathon May Magic Show at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 16. The program is open to all ages. Schwarz invites children to enjoy games, books and crafts during Miss Paula’s St. Patrick’s Day Storytime at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17. This is a registered event for children ages 3-8.
Families can come back to the library on Wednesday, March 18 for a Pout Pout Fish Party. Schwarz says the event will celebrate the release of the Pout-Pout Fish movie with a come-and-go morning of games, activities and crafts from 10 a.m. to noon in the community room.
She shares that the week will wrap up with a visit from Blank Park Zoo at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 19.
“They usually bring one to two animals. Last time, they had a lizard and a hedgehog. We never really know what we’re going to get, so it’s exciting for all of us. So a busy week with a little bit in there for everyone. There’s also an adult craft, we have Senior Plus happening that week. So if you have free time during spring break, come in and hang out at the library.”
