An organization in Greene County is embarking on its ninth fundraiser, which has already surpassed one half a million dollars.
The Bringing Optimism and Opportunities to Students and Teachers (BOOST) of Greene County Schools invites everyone to its annual BOOST Bash on Saturday, March 28th. BOOST member Chris Deal is thrilled to see that their group has raised over $550,000 of funding that goes directly back to the teachers and staff of the Greene County School District. He recalls the first-ever fundraiser BOOST held nine years ago when over 300 people attended to honor and recognize the educators and administrators that do so much for the students in the district.
“The feeling in that room, I still remember it, it’s one of those it still gives me kind of goosebumps feeling for the power of just bringing people together in a positive way and being able to celebrate good things that are happening, and come out of it with that positive vibe. Every year, we strive to do that again, and show that there is a lot of great people here and a lot of great things happening and a way for us to celebrate that.”
Deal points out that tickets are $30 each or a table of eight can also be reserved. The deadline to purchase tickets is this Sunday and the online silent auction will also open next week as well. The event on March 28th will be held at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds, with doors opening at 5pm and a meal to be served at 6:30pm, followed by the live auction.
