Time is running out for nominations for two volunteer recognitions with a non-profit organization in Jefferson.

Matt Wetrich is the director of Jefferson Matters and says they are taking nominations for their Above and Beyond the Call (ABC) Award. He notes that this award is given to an individual or a couple that exemplifies leadership qualities with their unselfish giving of their time and talent that is outside of their work environment.

“This is a community leader. It’s not just Jefferson Matters based, it’s anyone in the community. Somebody who has made a difference, they are a really dedicated volunteer with whatever it may be. That’s kind of one of our top honors as a community volunteer.”

Wetrich points out another award is the Forces Under 40, which has a slightly different set of criteria from the ABC Award.

“So these are folks, say the younger half of our population, that have made a real difference in the community. And this could even include excelling at their job because we know sometimes, you know young professionals get involved through their job or what they do with their job makes a difference in the community as well.”

The deadline for submissions is by 4pm this Friday. Click the links below to access the online forms. The recognitions will be done next month at the Jefferson Matters Community Appreciation event.
