The AC/GC Chargers boys basketball team had a successful season of growth this last year.
Head Coach Lance Kading says that while the team lost a lot of production and size from the 2024-25 season, this year’s seniors stepped up and produced a lot for the team as well. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that a big part of the seniors being able to show their skill and strength, came from the rest of the team as well, like the juniors and the large cast of underclassmen in the sophomore and freshman classes.
“I think they had a unique opportunity of many of them getting minutes as a freshman. That doesn’t typically happen. I think they had 13 starts between the freshman this year. You know, that’s typically not the case. But, those guys, they just, I don’t know, they mixed in there well with the upperclassmen, everybody played together well. The young guys kind of settled into their supporting roles and just competed hard.”
Kading mentions that the team should have nine letter winners returning next year, with five being freshmen. He adds that he’s looking forward to seeing how the next season goes, and to seeing what the seniors get up to and do as they head on to the next part of their lives.
