A Fort Dodge man was recently arrested for an alleged incident in Perry.

According to court documents, a Perry Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on Highway 144 for a violation on Monday. Court documents state that Leo Yeager was later placed in custody because his driver’s license was suspended.

The criminal complaint states that the officer was allowed to search and found a container under the front passenger seat containing a small glass pipe and three small clear baggies with a white and crystalline substance.

Court documents show that a double-sided axe was also found under the front passenger seat and a single rifle and handgun ammunition in the front driver side door. The affidavit states that Yeager was unable to possess the weapons due to being a convicted felon.

Court documents state that two additional glass pipes with a white and crystalline substance, along with a machete, were found on the rear passenger side of the vehicle. Several tools were also located, including bolt and pipe cutters and saws.

Yeager was arrested and charged with a Class D Felony for dominion, control of a firearm and offensive weapon by a felon. He was also charged with person ineligible to carry dangerous weapons, a serious misdemeanor, and possession of burglars tools, an aggravated misdemeanor.

He was booked into the Dallas County Jail where he remains under a $5,000 cash or surety bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
