The Guthrie Center City Council met in regular session Monday night.

The Council approved the placement of a 25 mile per hour sign on the north side of the 700 block of Oak Street, and the new Housing Inspection Agreement with Region XII Council of Governments. They also heard an update from Streets Superintendent Darin Sloss, where he shared that his department had helped clear one of the downtown buildings for the Guthrie Center Development group, cleared trees around the Valley Township cemetery, and had hauled several loads of dirt to Union Cemetery to fill part of the south slope, and then seed it down with grass when weather permits.

The Council also heard an update from City Administrator Kris Arrasmith, who shared that Celebrate Guthrie Center would be Friday at the Guthrie Center Activity Center, and reminded them about the upcoming budget timeline. She also gave an update from the latest Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa meeting.
