DCG basketball earns end-of-season individual awards and recognition after a remarkable run to the state championship game.

Honorable mentions in all-conference selections went to junior Aniyah Boens and sophomore Paisley Heidgerken. Juniors Tessa Jones and Addie Abens both made the 2nd team, along with senior point guard Leah Brauch.

Junior Macy Meyer and sophomore Ava Smid both had the honor of being selected 1st team in the Little Hawkeye and were selected for 1st team all district in the central division, as voted on by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association. Both of the girls were chosen for the 4A all-tournament team as well at the conclusion of the championship game on Saturday afternoon.

With team success, individual success will follow. The girls’ mantra this season was: sometimes you, sometimes me, always us. They certainly lived up to that this year. Congratulations to all the Mustangs honored with awards this season!
