The West Central Valley Girls Track and Field Team started the 2025-26 season on Tuesday at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar for the Dickinson Relays, as junior Willow Ray reigned victorious in the high jump for Class 2A.

Ray won first place with a distance of five feet and four inches in the high jump. Other great performances for the Wildcats included junior Ella Belden ran 28.76 seconds in the 200 meter dash, with sophomore Scarlett Putney right behind at 29.14 seconds. Then it was senior Talia Williams at 1:10.28 in the open 400 meters, junior Dallas Morgan completed a 6:19.61 in the 1500 meters, and West Central Valley’s 4×200 Meter Relay Team ran 1:59.78 for 38th place.
