Time is running out to register Greene County first through sixth graders for summer sports with a non-profit organization.

Greene County Youth Athletic Association says baseball and softball leagues are forming now. Organizers say there are three separate leagues that are based on ages, ranging from coach pitching with the use of pitching machines to kids pitching. The non-profit organization points out there will be practices and games as the seasons are from April 1st through June 12th.

The costs to participate are $70 for first and second graders and $95 for the other two leagues. The early bird registration ends this Friday and a $20 late fee will be applied after that until the hard cut-off date of March 23rd.

GCYAA notes that they are also offering a T-Ball League for four through six year olds that will be an introductory level to the game. Practices and games will be played on Saturdays in May at their field complex. The cost to participate is $25 per player and the early bird registration ends March 31st, and a $10 late fee will be assessed after that until the final registration date on April 10th.

GCYAA states that financial assistance is available for families that qualify. Click here to sign up.
