DCG boys wrestling had a great 2025-2026 season, led by head coach Cory Stratton, who brought his boys back to state as a team for the first time since 2010.
Stratton was named the Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association coach of the year in 3A, and his whole staff was named coaching staff of the year by the IWCOA. The leadership allowed the Mustangs to flourish this season with both team and individual success.
At the Little Hawkeye conference duals, the team placed 2nd, falling just short of their goal of taking home the crown. One week later, in Ankeny, DCG did what no Mustang team has done in 15 years: qualify for the state team duals. It took a remarkable performance from a number of wrestlers to achieve this goal. At the team duals tournament, DCG finished just outside the top five with a 6th place bid.
In one of the better team seasons in recent memory for the Mustangs boys wrestling, the coaches and wrestlers have a lot to be proud of.
