Crews responded to a structure fire Friday morning in northern Greene County.

According to Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams, the Paton, Churdan, Jefferson and Gowrie Fire Departments responded to the call in the 1600 block of 110th Street, northwest of the city of Paton, around 9am. Mitchel Tourte, with the Paton Fire Department, says the garage was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived on scene and that the fire was spreading to the nearby residential home. He states the garage is a total loss and additional damage was done to the northside two-story house.

Tourte notes that no one was hurt in the incident and no one was inside the garage at the time of the fire. Williams adds that the initial cause of the fire is undetermined. Greene County Ambulance and the Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
