
The 2025-26 soccer season begins at the end of the month for the West Central Valley Boys Team, as the Wildcats are eyeing another trip to the state tournament.
West Central Valley concluded last season with an overall record of 16-1-1, finishing first in the West Central Conference in Class 1A. A year ago, now-senior Aiden Brandon tallied the most goals with 17, followed by now-senior Trajan Rummel’s 15. During the regular season, the Wildcats did not have any losses, and tied 0-0 with Des Moines Christian.
West Central Valley beat PCM 4-1 in the Class 1A Regional Semifinal Round, then won 2-1 over Pella Christian in the Championship to qualify for state. The Wildcats season came to an end in the first contest at the state tournament, losing 2-0 to Hudson.
West Central Valley graduated seniors Andrew Carl, Juma Kurbonov, and Alan Diaz from last year’s team. The Wildcats will have a scrimmage in Atlantic on March 21st, then will open the season in Stuart versus Tri-Center on March 31st.
