Families looking for something to do during spring break can come to the Adel and Perry Public Libraries.

Programming Specialist Lily Schwarz says the Adel Library will kick the week off with the Jonathon May Magic Show at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 16. The program is open to all ages. Schwarz invites children to enjoy games, books and crafts during Miss Paula’s St. Patrick’s Day Storytime at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17. This is a registered event for children ages 3-8.

Families can come back to the library on Wednesday, March 18 for a Pout Pout Fish Party. Schwarz says the event will celebrate the release of the Pout-Pout Fish movie with a come-and-go morning of games, activities and crafts from 10 a.m. to noon in the community room.

She shares that the week will wrap up with a visit from Blank Park Zoo at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 19.

“They usually bring one to two animals. Last time, they had a lizard and a hedgehog. We never really know what we’re going to get, so it’s exciting for all of us. So a busy week with a little bit in there for everyone. There’s also an adult craft, we have Senior Plus happening that week. So if you have free time during spring break, come in and hang out at the library.”

Youth Services Librarian Laura Pieper invites families and children to check out the Patriotic Peeps Scavenger Hunt through Saturday, March 21 at the Perry Library.

Images of Peeps dressed like important men and women in American History will be hidden around the library. If you find them all and solve the riddle, you will win a small prize.

Pieper adds that the library will also offer a spring break movie from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17. She details that the movie will take attendees on a journey to a pixelated realm where heroes mine, monsters roam at night and anything they dream can be built. The movie is open to all ages.
