Greene County area teens are invited to a fun activity tonight in Scranton.

Bailey Mount, with the Greene County Libraries Association, says the 3rd Annual Teen Night Out will be held tonight at the Scranton Community Center. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio about 30 teens attend and they can do board games or play a variety of sports in the gym. Mount talks about one additional activity that fifth through twelfth graders can do.

“This time, we actually have a lady who’s coming to do some indoor mini-golf for the kids. So we’ve added that on and we’re also going to be giving away six different sports fiction books for varying age levels as prizes.”

Mount appreciates the cooperativeness of the county libraries working together to provide this kind of activity for those in fifth through twelfth grades.

“(Library Director) Tammy (Ross) over at the Scranton Public Library, she just has that on lock. As soon as we decide we’re going to do that program, she drops everything and immediately gets it booked. She knows how everything works over there and she’s just very good at coordinating this project. But, we couldn’t do it without each other and we definitely couldn’t do it without the funding that the (Greene County) Board of Supervisors gives us.”

The free event is from 7-9pm and snacks will be provided.
