
Greene County had four events place in the top eight on Friday at the Class 2A portion of the Iowa Association of Track Coaches Indoor State Championships in Ames. The coed meet inside the Lied Student Recreation Center on the Iowa State Campus saw one relay and three individual events score points for the Rams.
The highest placing was third in the boy’s 800 run when senior Drew Wolterman ran 2:03.34. That performance came about an hour after Wolterman finished fourth in the 400 meter dash in 51.76 seconds. The girls’ 4 x 400 meter relay was fourth in 4:20.20 with sophomore Ashlynn Ball, senior Kaycee Pittman, senior Becca Anderson, and sophomore Hanna Fouch. Pittman was seventh in the 800 meters in 2:30.32. Greene County scored 11 boys’ points and seven for girls.
The final indoor meet on the Greene County schedule is on Saturday, March 21 on the Buena Vista University Campus in Storm Lake.
