A suspect from Minnesota, who is accused of a felony crime in Jefferson almost ten years ago,  was recently arrested.

According to court documents, an investigation started with the Jefferson Police Department on February 18, 2017. Court documents show that a check of $385 at a Jefferson business that was used from a closed account. The affidavit reports that the person returned to the business looking for a wallet that she lost and when she was told it was turned into the police department, she left and didn’t go to the authorities. 

Court documents show that the vehicle description from the business was given to police, which was registered to an individual in Minnesota. The criminal complaint shows that an officer from Minnesota was contacted and there was an arrest warrant for the alleged suspect, 36-year-old Kayla Lundgren, for forging checks. The affidavit notes that a photo of Lundgren was given to Jefferson Police from the Minnesota officer and the employee from the Jefferson business verified the same individual that passed the check.

The criminal complaint states that Lundgren was arrested on March 14th and was booked into the Greene County Jail under a $1,000 cash or surety bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
