With spring break in full effect for Jefferson area youth, there are some activities going on this week with the Jefferson Public Library.

Youth Services Librarian Bailey Mount says Spring Break Cinema is happening tomorrow from 5-7pm at the library for a showing of “Sonic the Hedgehog 3.” She points out that this is for 7-12 year olds and there will be free snacks and crafts to do.

Mount notes that on Thursday for those in grades fifth through twelfth is in conjunction with Warm Wishes on the downtown square with an event called “Junk” Journaling with Main Character Energy.

“And what we’re really telling the kids is, what did I say, I said, ‘Take the ordinary and make it extra’ at this junk journaling workshop. We provide all of the materials and teach you how to collage, washi-tape, sticker and write your way to your ultimate romanticized life.”

Mount states that there are limited spots available for this free program that is from 4-5pm. Click here to register.

Additionally, Storybook Cinema is taking place tonight at the library basement with a free showing of the movie, “Now You See Me, Now You Don’t.” According to the library, this is the third installment in the franchise about four illusionists who join forces with a new generation to steal the world’s largest diamond from a South African mogul. The movie is rated PG-13 and it starts at 6:30pm with free snacks provided.
