With the spring officially around the corner, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach of Dallas County will host a horticulture program next week.

Horticulture & Conservation Program Educator Megan Will says a new program, Gardening is for the Birds, will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 26 at the Perry Learning Center, 1122 Willis Avenue, in Perry.

She adds that providing a safe and welcoming habitat for birds takes more than filling the bird feeder. Will details that participants will learn ways to create a multi-season garden, including plant suggestions to keep the birds flocking to their yards.
