The practice season for high school soccer in Iowa is officially underway. The Greene County School District is on Spring Break this week, but practices started Monday for those that are here.

Boys’ soccer has been especially strong for the Rams with winning seasons every year since the program began in 2018, and three State Tournament appearances to their credit. There was not 2020 season due to the Pandemic. The Rams were 7-4-1 last season with just two seniors on the roster. Second year head coach Chad Black and second year assistant Chad Schwander expect at least six seniors to contribute in 2026. Most of the goal scoring returns, as do all but two starters from the 2025 team. A strong JV team from a season ago, plus incoming freshman are expected to add depth.

The season starts on March 30 in Des Moines at the James Cowney Soccer Complex vs. Heart of Iowa Activities Conference opponent Grand View Christian.
