The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library reminds patrons of one of their services.
Library Director Jerri Hawkins mentions that one of the services they started in the last year has been to convert older forms of media. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio about their Memory Lab.
“If you are interested in digitalizing any of those old family recordings, videos, or pictures, the library has a Memory Lab. And this is equipment for you to either check out or use in the library to digitalize those memories so you can share them with everybody.”
Hawkins mentions that they have an Eysen 8mm and Super 8 Reels devices that can convert old 8mm and Super 8 Reel film to a visual only digital version, along with Elgato Video Capture to convert analog video formats to digital video with both audio and video. She adds that there is also a KODAK Slide N Scan that digitizes your photographs.
