The Perry Chamber’s Big Boom Bracket Battle continues as the contestants have been narrowed to the final eight.

Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti says around $1,600 was raised during the Sweet-as-Pie 16 round for the community’s Fourth of July fireworks display.

“Switching from the no-strings-attached Facebook likes in the Elimination Round now to donations as votes for the bracket is a game changer. There were several close match-ups right until the end, but only one from each match-up moves on to the next round. Now everyone starts back at $0 for the next round.”

The 2026 Big Boom Bracket Battle Explosive 8 match-ups include:

  • (2) Kristy Hupp, Perry Paw Spa vs. (7) Jenny Adair, Perry Elementary School
  • (4) Jeff Huitt, Tri-County Ag vs. (5) Heather Ketelsen, Perry High School
  • (6) Brent Rowe, Perry DMACC VanKirk Career Academy vs. (14) Andrea Brownlee, First Christian Church
  • (9) Clint Lutterman, 21 st Century Rehab vs. (16) Misty Conrad

Donations for this round of the contest will be accepted through noon on Tuesday, March 24 and the Firecracker 4 will begin that same day.

The fireworks drive will run through the Perry Chamber Foundation and online donations can be made by clicking here.

In-person donations will be collected at the Perry Public Library, 1101 Willis Avenue, and donations may also be delivered to the Perry Chamber of Commerce at 1124 Willis Avenue or mailed to PO Box 472, Perry, IA 50220.
