The high schools in Guthrie County had several students compete in the State Individual Events Speech Contest in Council Bluffs on March 14th.

Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center had 12 students take part in 18 events, with eight getting straight Division I Ratings in 11 events. Panorama had six students compete in seven events, with four receiving straight Division I Ratings in as many events. From West Central Valley, four students took part in six events, with two receiving overall Division I Ratings. There were also a few individuals chosen to attend the All-State Individual Speech Events Festival. From AC/GC, Cadence and Kiera Boals will both perform their Storytelling pieces, while Panorama’s Sara Rivas performs her Poetry piece.
