Greene County Medical Center is encouraging nominations for nurses that go above and beyond for a special recognition.
According to the medical center, the DAISY Award is given to exceptional nurses that show extraordinary efforts through patient care and their families. The medical center says the DAISY Award was created in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died from an autoimmune disease at 33, and it was through the nursing staff that made him and his family’s last moments together memorable and cherished times.
The medical center details that a patient, a family member of a patient, community members and colleagues are invited to submit a DAISY nomination by April 17th for the committee to consider those individuals for the honor. The DAISY ceremony will take place on May 7th at 2pm in the lobby of the medical center. Click here for an online nomination form.
