The indoor track & field season for the Greene County Rams ends this Saturday at Storm Lake inside the Buena Vista University facility. The Rams competed inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls and inside the Lied Student Recreation Center in Ames last week at Iowa State. After tomorrow, the outdoor season begins on Tuesday, March 24 at Simpson College in Indianola.

Drew Wolterman is one of the top performers on Coach Chad Morton’s boys’ squad. He finished third in the 800 meter run and fourth in the 400 meter dash on March 13 at the Iowa Association of Track Coaches Class 2A Indoor State Meet. He talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the start to the season. “It’s been pretty good so far. Really pleased with the open 400, which I haven’t run too much, and the open 800 on Friday didn’t allow much recovery time, but I’m still really pleased with it.”

He added he feels he can successfully run the 400 and 800 in the same meet later in the season, and possibly the 4 x 400 meter relay as well.
