The City of Perry reminds residents of the decoration rules for Violet Hill Cemetery.

Starting on Wednesday, April 1, all decorations at the cemetery must be contained in vases, placed on headstones or on an ornamental lawn hook. 

The exceptions to the rule include Memorial Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. For Memorial Day, decorations will be allowed anywhere around a grave between 10 days before and seven days after the holiday. For Mother’s and Father’s Days, the rules are suspended for five days before and after the holidays. The decoration restriction will remain in place until November 15.
