The AC/GC Chargers football team has had a recent history of excellent players.

Head Coach Cody Matthewson says they’ve now had three straight years that a player has been invited to the Iowa Shrine Bowl, starting with Payton Jacobe two years ago, then Jathan South last year, and this year it’s Joe Crawford. Matthewson shares that the Shriners don’t just look for seniors who are great players, but are also outstanding individuals off the field as well. He mentions that Crawford has been an easily coachable athlete, and that he’s got an infectious enthusiasm when it comes the game, and nearly anything else. Matthewson adds that he’s looking forward to having one last week to coach Crawford leading up to the Iowa Shrine Bowl.
