Area residents can celebrate the return of warmer weather by picking up free seeds through a program with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach of Dallas County.
Horticulture & Conservation Program Educator Megan Will says the extension has seed libraries located at libraries across the county. She adds that residents are free to stock up on seeds for their 2026 gardens.
Will details that the seeds are stocked by Dallas County Master Gardeners. They are available at public libraries in Adel, Granger, Grimes, Minburn, Perry, Redfield, Woodward and Van Meter. They are also available at the Waukee YMCA, Fruitful Vine Garden at Westview Church and the Dallas County Extension Office, 28061 Fairground Road, Adel.
