Guthrie County and the Guthrie County Secondary Roads Department secured some funding to help improve roadway safety.
Supervisor Maggie Armstrong shares that they received nearly $10,000 from the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Local Systems Bureau for the Sign Replacement Program. She explains that funding will be used to replace and upgrade 105 roadway signs across the county, including speed limit and no passing zone signs. Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern says that every bit of additional funding for roadway safety is a big help, and that up-to-date signage plays a critical role as they continue investing in infrastructure supporting rural communities.
