There were just two seniors on the 2025 boys’ soccer team at Greene County High School. That squad went 7-4-1 under first year head coach Chad Black and first year assistant Chad Schwander. In season two with Black and Schwander the coaches and players bring more experience to the pitch than a year ago.
The Rams scored 49 goals in 2025 with 20 from senior Franklin Regalado. Senior Fredy Aguilar had 10 goals with nine by junior Lincoln Schwander. A number of other letter winners from past seasons are back, so hopes are high for 2026.
The Rams have a scrimmage this Saturday in Denison, then open the regular season next Monday, March 30 vs. Grand View Christian in Des Moines at the James W. Cownie Soccer Complex, followed by a March 31 contest in Boone. The home opener in Jefferson at Linduska Field is set for Thursday, April 2 vs. Central Iowa United, the combined program based at West Marshall High School in State Center.
