Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is looking forward to their event on Saturday.
Program Director Shelby Van Horn says that their Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Festival is something that is for the youth of the county to attend. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they’ve held the event in both Guthrie Center and Panora, and why they change it up.
“We kind of just rotate those around so each community gets an opportunity to host it in their community. But it is open to all youth in Guthrie County. So we hope that even if you don’t live in Panora that you still plan to attend.”
Van Horn mentions that they will have several local businesses and entities that participate in the festival, showing the different ways that they use STEM in the workplace. She adds that the event will be from 9am to noon at Panorama Elementary.
