A candidate for Iowa Governor will visit Perry on Friday evening.
Jeremy Walters invites community members to meet Eddie Andrews at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at Waypoint Pentecostal Church, 2802 North Street, in Perry, with doors opening at 6 p.m.
Andrews currently serves as a member of the Iowa House for the 43rd district, representing Johnston, Urbandale, Saylor and Crocker Townships. He is one of five Republicans who recently filed paperwork to appear on the party’s primary ballot for the June 2 election. Other Republican candidates include U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra, businessman Zach Lahn, former state Rep. Brad Sherman and former Department of Administrative Services Director Adam Steen. Auditor Rob Sand is the only Democrat on the ballot.
Walters, with Waypoint Church, says Andrews will hold a devotional before talking about his campaign and leading a question and answer session with attendees.
He adds that the event is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
