The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday in regular session.

The Council approved a resolution to purchase the $2 million bond with an interest rate just under four percent as presented, as well as renewing the property and liability insurance with a premium cost of $295,650, and they accepted the 2024-25 audit report as presented.

The Council also approved a plat of survey for Dan Winger who is splitting part of a parcel for his neighbor, Nick Foster, due to Foster’s property line being right up against Winger’s property line. They also approved a 28E agreement with Greene County for recycling services. It was mentioned that the city would charge $250 per dump and it is a three-year renewing agreement.

During reports, City Building Official Chad Stevens said the Board of Adjustment granted a special exception for Abundant Life Ministries to establish a private, accredited school. He told the Council that since the area is zoned as single family residential, an accredited private school is a permitted use, only with the approval of the Board of Adjustment.
