Online bidding for a fundraiser in Greene County is currently underway.

Bringing Optimism and Opportunities for Students and Teachers (BOOST) of Greene County Schools is hosting its 9th Annual BOOST Bash this Saturday and while the deadline to purchase a ticket to the event has passed, anyone can now contribute via online bidding. 

BOOST Member Chris Deal says the proceeds from the online auction as well as the live auction at the event all goes back to the teachers and staff with the Greene County School District. He points out that teachers make their requests to a committee before the start of the next school year with one important instruction.

“We want the teachers, ultimately, to have the ability to say, ‘Here’s the most important project, here’s the project with the biggest impact.’ And that’s really the decision criteria, we say, ‘Choose what’s going to have the biggest impact, make the biggest, lasting impact on students, teachers (and) classrooms.’” 

According to BOOST, there are over 70 items that are live now and people can place bids on. Deal adds that the online auction will close at 8pm on Saturday. Click here to register and start bidding on the online auction
