The Greene County high school track & field teams opened the outdoor season at Simpson College in Indianola last night during the Simpson High School Classic. The Rams were sixth on the boys side with 41 points while Indianola won the team title with 205 points. Valley of West Des Moines scored 180 points, followed by 86 from Carlisle, Treynor 76, Colfax-Mingo 48, 41 for the Rams, 37 from Centerville, Indianola’s JV had 34, with East Union (After) at 23 and Wayne (Corydon) at seven points.

Coach Chad Morton’s boys’ team did not win any events, but did place second in the 800 meter medley relay in 1:39.02 with senior Aden Bardole, junior Lincoln Schwander, junior Zack Stalder, and senior Drew Wolterman. Wolterman was second individually in the 800 meter run in 2:02.64 and the other top three finish for the boys was in the long jump where junior Jaron Jacobs was third at 19 feet, four inches.
