Now that the weather has turned nice, Perry residents will soon be able to have their yard waste picked up weekly.

The Perry City Council recently approved the 2026 yard waste pick-up schedule, which will start on Wednesday, April 1 on the south side of Willis Avenue. It will continue every Wednesday through December 9, alternating from the south to north side of Willis Avenue each week.

The city reminds residents that all yard waste except tree, bush or brush materials are to be placed in biodegradable paper bags with a maximum weight of 40 pounds. All tree, bush and brush materials are to be bundled and tied in maximum lengths of four feet with a maximum weight of 40 pounds and set near the street curb in front of the residence during the yard waste disposal dates for collection and disposal by the city.

The yard waste should be placed near the street curb in front of the residence by 7 a.m. to assure pick-up.

Other items can be dropped off at the City of Perry’s Yard Waste Disposal Site, 14325 Ivy Place, which will remain open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily throughout the year.

The yard waste collection schedule and disposal site rules can be found on the city’s website.
