Teagan Chisholm

The Greene County High School boys’ soccer team opens the season next week with senior Teagan Chisholm in goal. A striker throughout his high school career, he told Raccoon Valley Radio he would alternate between goalkeeper and striker as a Youth player and throughout Middle School. He a five sport athlete for the Rams after playing football, basketball, and bowling previously. This Spring, Chisholm is also playing golf in addition to soccer.

The Rams have three matches on the schedule for next week under the direction of second year head coach Chad Black and second year assistant coach Chad Schwander. The Rams were 7-4-1 last season and have had winning seasons every year since the program began in 2018. There was no season in 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Greene County has a scrimmage on Saturday in Denison, then officially begins the season Monday, March 30 in Des Moines at the James W. Cownie Soccer Complex vs. Grand View Christian. The Rams go to Boone on March 31, then open the home slate on Thursday, April 2 as part of a girl/boy doubleheader at Linduska Field in Jefferson vs. Central Iowa United, the West Marshall based combined program.
