With the first official meet of the season scheduled for Monday, head coach of the Perry Bluejays track team Jason Lutterman, had plenty of praise for the Perry Strength and Conditioning program run by Scott Pierce.

Coach Lutterman explained how the PSP program is crucial for runners during the winter months, when running on the track is not as accessible.

“The PSP program is really humming. They do morning workouts with coach Pierce. They do plyos. They do lifting. When its January or February in Iowa, that’s what you rely on to be ready for track season. Not a lot of kids are going outside to run sprints when it’s below zero.”

The months of preparation will be on display on Monday as the Perry Bluejays open up the season at Bondurant-Farrar High School.
