The West Central Valley drama department is presenting the final performance of their spring play, “Summer of KAOS” by Stephen Murray, tonight.
Director Nancy Bauch explains that the play is set at a summer camp known for its radio station and its eccentric head counselor, Wanda Schneider. The plot begins with Wanda Schneider struggling to pay the camp’s mortgage. Trouble escalates when Lucinda Scorch, the world’s wealthiest woman, arrives to purchase the property. However, a crucial health inspection must occur first. Unfortunately, a recurring 37-and-a-half-year weather event, known as the El Gordo winds, has infested the camp with 500 mice.
The audience will watch as the campers and counselors work together to save the camp and secure a better future for all the mice. Tickets are available at the door for $6. A list of the cast members can be found in the online version of this story.
