The leader of the Panorama Dance Team outlines the powerful emotion dancing can evoke from an individual.

Panthers Head Dance Coach Kristi Vance emphasizes that dancers are not only athletes, but are also artists with the expression they display during routines. She says it’s a cool aspect that movement can reveal so much about a person’s character. Vance points out that the girls on Panorama are not afraid to be vulnerable through their expression of dance.

“They just want to tell their story, whether it’s a happy story or a sad story. They light up the floor when it’s a fun, upbeat piece and they bring happiness. It’s just so awesome to see them communicate what words sometimes cannot and that’s just one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.”

At the 2026 Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Association Championships, the Panthers managed to get Maci Bauer, Addison Wagner, Cali Knudsen, Hadley Fitch, and Nella Rivas inside the top-10 soloists performers.
