West Central Valley sophomore Tyler Peugh details how the sport of wrestling has led him to be in the best physical shape.

Peugh shares that he started wrestling at eight years old after his friends convinced him to join, which he quickly fell in love with. He marked his first qualification for the Iowa High School Athletic Association State Wrestling Tournament in February, and loves the physical attributes the sport gives him.

“It just puts me in the best shape of my life.”

Peugh, who represented the 113 weight pound category in Class 1A, lost his initial match to Lisbon’s Jack Gogel in a fall, lasting one minute and 15 seconds, then was defeated in his second match to Nushua-Plainfield’s Jagger White by an 8-0 major decision.
