Four players from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Basketball Team are being recognized for their great contributions during this past season in the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
Tiger seniors Hudson Lorensen and Trey Bryte were named to 1st Team All-State, with Lorensen also honored with the Class 3A Player of the Year. In addition, senior Hudson Shull earned 2nd Team All Raccoon River Conference (RRC) and junior Eli Wiebers notched an Honorable Mention All-RRC. ADM Head Boys Basketball Coach Trevor Mickelson expresses that it’s wonderful to see the players celebrated for their accomplishments.
“It’s awesome. You spend so much time with these kids over the course of the last couple of years. And you see how hard the kids work and you know that they are deserving of having the opportunity to showcase what they’re capable of on the highest level in front of that many people, and you want them to be recognized.”
Lorensen is now the Tigers all-time leading scorer with 1,669 points. Bryte is first on ADM with the most assists at 376 and has the most steals with 129, while also scoring 760 total points. Shull is fourth all-time in school history with 129 made three-pointers, and Wiebers’ intelligence makes him a fierce competitor.
The Tigers concluded the season with a 24-3 record, advancing to their first basketball championship match, but fell short 43-39 to Ballard in overtime.
