
There are plenty of opportunities to search for treats on Saturday across Dallas County.
The Perry Parks and Recreation Department invites children from birth through eight years old to look for eggs at the Pattee Park Sports Complex (west of the softball/baseball fields). The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos at 10 a.m., with the hunt to follow at 10:30 a.m.
New Day Assembly of God will also host an Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. on the church lawn, 2313 1st Avenue, in Perry. The event is open to the public. Children in preschool through fifth grade are invited to hunt for 5,000 eggs. Raffle prizes will also be available and golden eggs will be hidden for special prizes.
Children will have one more chance to find treats at 11:30 a.m. outside of Perry Hy-Vee. Families are invited to pose for photos with the Easter Bunny and to enjoy free children’s activities inside the store.
The Minburn Public Library will present the Community Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. at Rodger’s Park. Children and families are invited to come meet the Easter Bunny and find some eggs.
Dallas Center’s Easter Celebration will kick off with a Rotary pancake breakfast from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Memorial Hall, 1502 Walnut Street. The cost is $7 per person through a Rotarian or at the door. Proceeds will go to support Rotary scholarships and Dallas Center community projects.
The Easter Egg Hunt will follow at 10 a.m. at Mound Park in Dallas Center. Children are encouraged to return their eggs to receive a prize, which include a Blue Zoo children’s admission coupon and toy duck, squishy toy or challenge cube. The Easter Bunny will also be on hand for photos.
Here’s a look at other Easter events on Saturday around Dallas County:
- The Woodward Lions Club’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Woodward Public Library. The family-friendly event is free and those three and under will go first.
- The Redfield Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 10 a.m. at Redfield City Park. The event is for children ages 0-12.
- Waukee’s Easter Egg Hunt will start at 10 a.m. at Centennial Park. Once the starting horn sounds, kids can race for thousands of eggs and pieces and candy, along with special golden prize eggs. The hunt will be divided into three age groups, with ages 4 and under at the greenspace west of Field #3, ages 5-7 at Fields #2 and #3 and ages 8-10 at Field #1.
- Van Meter Parks and Recreation will host an Easter Egg Hunt from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Johnson Park. The event will include Easter egg hunts for different age groups, prizes and candy-filled eggs and family-friendly fun.
- De Soto Public Safety and 100 Acre Woods will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. at Little Bridge City Park. The event will include egg hunts by age group, golden prize eggs, pictures with the Easter Bunny, crafts, treats, games and prizes, including bicycles. The event is free to the community and local families are invited to come enjoy the day together.
- The Stone Bridge Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 11 a.m. at the Granger Parks and Rec Field. The event will include 15,000 eggs to hunt, prizes, Granger Fire and EMS trucks on site and a special appearance by the Easter Bunny.
