For the second straight day the Greene County Rams played a high school boys’ soccer match. After a 2-1 Monday victory in Des Moines vs. Grand View Christian, Coach Chad Black’s team played on the road in Boone at Geoppinger Field and won by a 9-0 score.
Senior Franklin Regalado scored six goals, all in a 13 minute span in the second half after the Rams took a 2-0 lead into intermission. Juniors Ethan Carstens and Lincoln Schwander had the two first half goals, and senior Fredy Aguilar added a second half goal. Fredy Aguilar and Carstens each had two assists with one each from Dani Aguilar, Carter Hinote, and Schwander.
Head coach Chad Black said his team needed to open up after a tight first half. “We had a little different formation and are moving things around.”
The Rams are scheduled to open the home portion of the schedule by hosting Central Iowa United (West Marshall) in a girl/boy doubleheader tomorrow at Linduska Field in Jefferson. The girls’ contest is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with the boys to follow.
