The West Central Valley Girls and Boys Track and Field Teams participated in the Earlham Early Bird Meet on Tuesday, as senior Willow Ray grabbed second place in the Girls High Jump.

Ray jumped a distance of five feet flat to finish as the runner-up, behind Mount Ayr senior Aubree Shields, who went five feet and six inches. Other great performances for the Wildcat girls include junior Ella Belden running 28.77 seconds for fifth in the open 200 Meter Dash, then sophomore Janae Dukes threw 28 feet and three inches in the shot put event, and also went 72 feet and nine inches in the discus throw.

On the boys side, junior Colton Lindsay ran 1:05.08 to nab sixth place in the 400 Meter Hurdles, followed by sophomore Kael Sawyers going 59.46 seconds in the open 400 Meter Dash for seventh place. Wildcat freshman Connor Coil completed the 3200 Meter Run in 12:29.29 to get seventh, plus West Central Valley’s Boys 800 Medley Relay tallied third place at 1:42.87 behind Madrid and Van Meter.

The Wildcat Teams will now travel to Greenfield on Monday for the Nodaway Valley Coed Meet, starting at 4:30pm.
