The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Soccer Team lost their first game of the 2026 season in Adel to North Polk 3-0 on Thursday.

The Tigers and Comets played great defense in the first half, with both goalies having good sequences denying any points, leading to a 0-0 contest at the break. However, North Polk struck one minute in the second half, as senior Ava Gibson gave the Comets a 1-0 lead. 

About eight minutes later, North Polk junior Jordin Halverson found room in the back of the net to stretch the advantage to 2-0. Halverson broke the game open, as she tallied her second goal six minutes after scoring previously to make it 3-0 in favor of the Comets, which would go on to be the final score.

With the win, North Polk goes to 1-0 on the early season and will hit the road to Winterset on Monday. For ADM, they fall to 0-1 overall and will host the Perry Jayettes in Adel on Monday.
