Guthrie Center is taking part in a major Iowa event this summer.

Volunteer Organizer Steve Smith says that earlier this year, it was announced that Guthrie Center would be the overnight stop for the second day of the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. He adds that the group has also decided on a slogan and logo for the stop, which can be found on the group’s Facebook page. Smith mentions that the group also received $50,000 to help with the planning and set up for being part of the event. He adds that for those interested in learning more about the event, or in finding out how they can help, there is a town hall meeting tonight at 7pm at the Guthrie Center Activity Center on State Street, where topics will include vendor information, and an open question and answer segment.
